Last October was a month full of new challenges as we organized the first edition of the "AMANC Cross-Country Athletic Race" with the goal of raising funds to continue assisting more children with their cancer treatments. This organization posed a significant challenge as it had not been done before. We sought sponsorships, established new partnerships with companies, designed the branding, created advertising, sold tickets, and more.
Despite the extensive effort involved, enthusiasm never waned, fueled by the motivation to continue helping our cancer patients. We felt fortunate as we received an overwhelming response from hundreds of runners.
On the day of the event, participants from different parts of the state started arriving early. Some came with their families, pets, and friends, creating a spectacular atmosphere. Once the starting whistle blew, the race began, with participants running, jogging, walking, and above all, enjoying the mountain view. After the race, a social gathering ensued, along with a massive raffle giving all participants a chance to win a prize.
Such was the inaugural edition of the AMANC Cross-Country Athletic Race, deemed a success with over 500 participants. Every penny raised was directly allocated to the cause, helping us cover cancer treatments for our patients. We eagerly look forward to organizing a new edition by the end of 2024.
