We are in a new school year in Uganda, and we are thankful for your help!
Thanks to you, we were recently able to add 100 new chairs to the Preschool and Primary 1 classes at Calvary Primary School in Uganda. One hundred children now have colorful, safe seats to replace old wooden benches. This gives the youngest of our students a safer environment. The benches we replaced had been in use since 2005 - can you imagine how rickety they had become?
We still want to get more of the three-seater desks for the middle-grade children, but for the time being we need to concentrate on school fees and food for the children. Most of the safety concerns with the old desks have been addressed. The bigger priority at this point is to provide food for the children - since most do not have meals outside of school.
We are closing the desk project on March 31, so that we can concentrate on the need for food and school fees. Be sure to check out our education project on GlobalGiving - your donations will keep children in school and support the feeding program that provides two daily meals to students at Calvary Primary.
Thank you for making all of this possible!
