In February 2026, United Way Perú and our corporate partners launched the Back to School Campaign: De Vuelta al Cole 2026, bringing together companies, volunteers, and individual donors around a shared goal: helping young children start the school year with confidence, dignity, and the tools they need to learn.
Thanks to the generosity of supporters from 11 participating companies, GlobalGiving donors, and 22 corporate volunteers, we successfully delivered 1,109 school and hygiene kits to preschool children in 9 public schools across Southern Lima, including the districts of San Juan de Miraflores, Villa María del Triunfo, Villa El Salvador, and Lurín. These kits provided both learning materials and essential hygiene items, helping children arrive at school ready to learn and develop healthy habits from an early age.
This achievement was made possible through the support of the growing community that believes in creating equal learning opportunities for all children. Together, we surpassed last year's results, reaching even more children than in 2025.
For every child who received a kit, this was more than a collection of supplies. It was a message that their education matters. It was the confidence of walking into the classroom prepared, the opportunity to learn alongside their peers, and the foundation for a thriving start to the school year. By combining educational and hygiene resources, the project also encouraged daily habits that contribute to children's health, well-being, and readiness to learn.
While we celebrate this milestone, we know that many more children in vulnerable communities still lack access to the basic materials they need to learn and grow. Your support continues to make a real difference, and with the help of donors like you, we can reach even more children.
Thank you for believing in the power of education and for being part of this journey. Together, we are creating opportunities, strengthening communities and helping children build brighter futures where they can thrive.
With gratitude,
United Way Perú
