Nearly 30% of Peru's population lives in extreme poverty, making access to basic school supplies a challenge for many families. Without these materials, preschool children face barriers to learning from the start. This project will provide 1,200 children in 9 public schools with essential school and hygiene kits, ensuring they begin their education with the tools they need to thrive.
In Peru, nearly 30% of the population lives in extreme poverty (INEI, 2023). This prevents many families from purchasing essential school supplies. This gap is particularly critical in early childhood education, where access to basic materials fosters cognitive, social, and emotional development. Without the necessary tools, children struggle to engage in learning, putting them at a disadvantage from the very beginning of their education.
This project will provide 1,200 school kits to children in 9 public schools, ensuring they have the necessary materials to learn and develop. Each kit includes essential school supplies such as crayons, markers, pencils, sharpeners, and erasers, as well as hygiene items like toothbrushes, toothpaste, and personal care sets. By equipping children with these tools, we not only support their academic success but also promote healthy habits, giving them a stronger foundation for their future.
By providing 1,200 school kits, we are not just supplying materials - we are equipping young learners in Peru for success. Access to materials fosters learning, confidence, and school engagement. Early hygiene habits improve long-term health, promoting lifelong well-being. This initiative gives vulnerable children an equal start, breaking cycles of disadvantage and opening doors to brighter futures.
