54 young women successfully completed entrepreneurship and financial literacy training covering essential skills such as business planning, customer management, savings, and record keeping. Following the training, each participant received startup capital to establish or expand small enterprises in sectors such as tailoring, retail, hairdressing, and agribusiness.
As a result, these young women have launched 150 active youth-led businesses, generating direct employment for peers within their communities. On average, the entrepreneurs now earn between USD 15 and 20 per day, enabling them to meet household needs, invest in business growth, and contribute to local economic activity. The businesses have also become safe learning spaces for other aspiring entrepreneurs, particularly young women seeking practical skills and inspiration.
Beyond income generation, the program has strengthened participants’ confidence, financial independence, and leadership capacity. Many of the young women are now mentoring others, forming savings groups, and collectively advocating for greater access to resources for women entrepreneurs.
The success of this phase demonstrates the power of youth innovation and opportunity creation, showing that with the right training, mentorship, and seed support, young people in underserved communities can drive real economic transformation from the ground up.
