Scholarships Open Doors

By David Plath | Development Director

Dear Friend,

I would like to thank you for supporting scholarships for  the children and adults with special needs that participate in our programs. We just completed our Spring riding session with 59 participants in Therapeutic Riding,18 in Unmounted Horsemanship, and 9 in Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy.

For over 40 years, our programs have been successful because of the synergy created between a participant and their horse. It is this partnership that goes a long way toward meeting individual goals where participants can improve their balance and coordination, gain strength, build self-confidence, and develop their communication and social skills. Each of our horses work hard to give our participants the very best experience through our programs.

Your gift provides for a portion of their session fees and assists with the care and feeding of our 12 horses. It also helps pay for the Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors and Equine Specialists that teach lessons; and provide our volunteers with valuable training that helps to make our programs possible.

We thank you for your support of individuals that need it most. You have helped to pave the Path to Independence for those that come to our barn. We ask humbly you to again consider supporting scholarships for our neediest families so their loved one can continue to experience the magic of horses throughout the coming year.

With deep appreciation,

David Plath
