Until 10th November 2017 $1552 have been donated for our project Equal Opportunities in Education for Kenyan Orphans via GlobalGiving. We´d like to express our gratitude to all donors.
Several children who are beneficiaries of our sponsorship program and do not have a personal sponsor have received items that were bought with the donations such as soap, shoes, tooth paste, pens and sanitary towels. We have attached a photo that shows those children, who have benefited from this fundraising campaign.
In order to give you a personal insight we would like to shortly tell the story of one of the girls. Scovia attends the secondary school St. Hillarius. She lives with her mother. After the death of her father, Scovias mother was not able to buy any school equipment for Scovia, as she as 6 more siblings. Therefore, Scovia is exceptionally grateful for the support through this fundraising campaign. She has received a blanket, sheets, towels and sanitary towels. Especially the sanitary towels are of crucial importance, as girls can often not attend school for days during their period. Scovia had been missing out in school frequently. Thanks to your contribution she is now able to attend school well equipped regularly.
We would like to advert at this point that there is a big fundraising campaign coming up on GlobalGiving soon. This Year-End Campaign will begin on 28th November 2017 at midnight EST. Until 31st December 2017 GlobalGiving will give lots of bonusses and prizes for all incoming donations. We kindly ask you to share this information with friends, colleagues and family. If you need any further information, please contact us via e-mail: j.wiest@dentists-for-africa.org
