Remember Chelsea's Good Work

Greetings, we wanted to update you on what we've accomplished over the past quarter.  We continue to work hard to be able to grant comfort and hope to those struggling with epilepsy/seizures.

In just a few short weeks, Chelsea Hutchison Foundation is hosting 28 families with all major expense paid trips to Epilepsy Awareness Day at Disneyland. This event includes a 2 day expo with over 100 vendors, hospitals, epileptologists and epilepsy centers. Our families will have face to face opportunities to speak with some of the top specialists in the United States. The friendships that are created through this week are many times life long friendships and provide much needed support of understanding. This event has been virtual for the past two years so everyone is excited to be able to meet in person. Many of our families have been waiting since 2020 for this trip.

Recently, three of our service dog recipients graduated and are now working teams.  All three received their service dogs through Domesti-Pups out of Lincoln, NE.  Reports from all three recipients and their families are that the matches were perfect and the dogs are already alerting and responding to their handler's seizures.  To date we have had the privilege of assisting 152 families pay for their new life partners.

In addition, we have had assisted over 1,200 families with, what we believe to be, life-saving movement monitors. These monitors are expensive and are not covered by insurance.  The peace they bring to families is so needed. While there are never any guarantees, having a line of defense in place allows families to breathe just a bit and possibly get a few more minutes of sleep each night.

We will be closing this project in the new few months and will be creating a project that includes updates on all of our projects. We appreciate you and your support over the years and hope you will continue to follow us and support us there. We will make sure you know when the change is made.

Respectfully,

Julie Hutchison
