Bio-Benin, founded in the belief that protecting the environment must be at the root of all our activities, is off to an excellent start working with Thrive for Good, a Canadian ONG, to teach 30 local women how to farm organically. These women will also be at the heart of our drive to protect the environment by protecting trees. Trees, water and a healthy soil are at the heart of our efforts in maintaining life in this part of the world.
As they gain confidence in their farming skills, and earn money from the fruits and vegetables they grow, these women will plant and protect trees along the local waterways. Bio-Benin will help them by providing stoves that use less wood to cook meals, or ones fueled by biogas, produced locally.
Thanks to your support, these environmental efforts will grow and become rooted in the local culture over time. With leadership from our Beninese staff, local residents will learn how central their actions are to improving the health and welfare of their entire community.
