Hello friends!
We are happy to share with you that we successfully completed our project and raised over $40,000 to provide Environmental Education for the children who come to DAKTARI! After a very succesful campaign, we believe it is time to close this project. We have shared many of the stories which have risen from the impact that we have made in the children and the community, and we hope that you feel as important as you have been for our success!
This does not mean our work is over!
We have decided to start a new campaign to completely revamp our project on the fundraising platform to accurately reflect the situation and needs of our project in order to continue making a difference now and in the future. We have updated the impact which each donation will make in order to give you, our donors and supporters, a more accurate and up-to-date view of how your donations are directly put into the project.
We hope for an equally successful campaign for our project 'Educate African children to save their Environment'! Through your support we will continue to provide an educational program for these children in order to inspire them to not only take care of their environment, but also to pursue careers which will make an impact on conservation.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for all of your support throughout this project. Your small gesture makes a world of a difference for us and, more importantly, for the children!
Best Regards and until next time!

Hello All!
We would like to let you know how your contribution to our project is making a difference for the children that we welcome at our camp! Over the last couple of months we have shared the DAKTARI experience with a large number of children, and we continually strive to give them the best education possible.
For instance, we received a group of children from a nearby school who were so eager to learn that they asked to stay another week with us! This was not the first time this happened and, of course, we would have loved to have them because they were such a great group! However, it is very important for us to allow all children to come learn about the environment and wildlife at DAKTARI, so, sadly, we could not let them stay. It would not be fair to the other children!
More closely related to the impact we aim to make, earlier this month we received a call from a farmer from a nearby village who had a procupine destroying his crops. Instead of taking the easy way out and killing the animal, he heard that he could call us to take care of the animal and take it to our property, where it was released in the wild. Although a small gesture, it reflects that the local community is being affected by our project as a certain conscience has been raised about the importance of respecting animals and wildlife.
This impact is possible because of help from people like YOU! We hope that you are aware that we think of you often and we are tremendously grateful for your selflessness and your help!
Also, we are getting very close to completing this project, so help us complete it so we can start a new one!
Thank you again for your immeasurable help!
Best Regards,
Manuel Camino

Dear friends,
Have you heard about the incredible success story of Marupi, a young boy of only 13 years old? Well, I am so proud to let you know that we launched a few days ago our 2 minutes amazing film about him.
Marupi is a young child passionate about the animals of South Africa. But from a far-away village in Limpopo, he does not have access to water, lives surrounded by rubbish and tries to find some space in his overcrowed classroom. One day, he found the perfect place for his dream to come true... DAKTARI Bush School and Wildlife Orphanage.
I will not to tell you more, you have to discover it for yourself! Original, heart warming, touching, watch our latest creation, CLICKING HERE!! :)
...
So tell me, did you like it? What do you think about the ending?
Just because it is you, Let me tell you a secret. I had some news from Marupi after the filming and he is now attending the Eco-Club lessons given by DAKTARI once a week in his village!! "We are very proud of you Marupi!!! Keep going in this way!"
DAKTARI needs you to spread more stories like Marupi! Please take another 2 minutes of your time to share that video with your friends via email, social media... Inform them that they can donate or volunteer for our project and be part of our educational program with the children and animals. (NOTE: We have special prices for April, take advantage of it NOW!! Click HERE)
Did I tell you how important you are to us!? Without your support these underprivileged children and orphaned animals will not have the opportunity to have a second chance in life.
A HUGE THANK YOU!

Dear GlobalGiving Donors,
Some of you know us personally but others have not had the opportunity to meet us yet.
We, Ian and I (Michele), are the co-founders on site of DAKTARI Bush School & Wildlife Orphanage.
Yesterday, 31st of December, I went again through the list of our donors to check that we did not forget to thank anyone.
The list was long and I realised how many people you are, helping and trusting us. Being touched about it, I had to take time and think about each of you all!
I want you to understand that behind the description of the project on GlobalGiving, there are also two people with passion for the environment and love for our community. We, and our team, are the ones doing the work and making the impact on your behalf. We deeply thank you for choosing DAKTARI as a beneficiary.
Your donation (s) have been very important to us in 2014 and this is why I finished the year thinking about each and every one of you.
When I woke up this morning, believe it or not, I was thinking of you again. Although I wanted to stay in bed, I needed to share my feelings with you and write my gratitude. It is important to explain in simple words how meaningful you are to us. Basically, you kicked me out of bed!!!!
Thank you for being who you are. Your generous support makes it possible for our organisation to exist and to make the community a great place to live.
Remember that to us your donation is much more than a click, and we are looking forward to your support in 2015.
All the best to you, very dear donors.
Thank you.
Dear Donors,
Another great year is coming to an end and all the animals and everyone at DAKTARI wish you a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2015!!
No words can describe how grateful we are for your help and support. We could not run this Bush School & Wildlife Orphange without you! All these fabulous moments, bush adventures, joy, animals rescued and released, new babies, children's stories, laughs, teaching program... This is thanks to your participation towards a better world.
THANK YOU for being here, involved with DAKTARI and we hope to continue hearing from you Next Year :)
The DAKTARI Team,
Children, Animals, Volunteers, Staff, Ian and Michele.
