There are a number of environmental factors impacting health - heavy metals, environmental chemicals, plastics, chemicals in personal care products, electromagnetic radiation, mold, air and water pollution all impact health. The World Naturopathic Federation (WNF) is consolidating the research on the key environmental risk factors and is creating a web-based platform to share that information globally. Support this important project of the WNF.
Chronic diseases are on the rise. Although, many factors contribute, understanding the impact of environmental factors - heavy metals, chemicals at home and work, additives in food, electromagnetic radiation, etc. - on health is lacking. The aim of this project is to increase the public's awareness of environmental risk factors, to provide education on how to limit exposure, to provide information on how to assess for your exposure and to outline ways to decrease your risk of disease.
Educating the public with research-based information that is applicable to them is an essential first step. Naturopathic researchers will summarize the information on key environmental risk factors based on "where they come from", "how they affect you", and "how to protect yourself". The WNF will then work with its member organizations (spanning 50 countries from all world regions) to promote this information locally and through social media.
The project will provide a solid understanding of the impact that environmental risk factors are having on health around the globe. The aim is to provide a web-based platform in six languages. The WNF is committed to a two-year social media educational initiative with two posts a week. Our aim is reach over 100,000 people. The Environmental Risk Factors research will be continually updated on the WNF site. The WNF will be building alliances with other organizations.
