The war in DRC have caused severe damage with degradation of land, leading to significant environmental and social challenges. Environmental Damage: Destroyed vegetation, disrupted ecosystems, and left the soil infertile and prone to further erosion. Livelihood Losses: Negatively affected farming communities who depend on the land for agriculture, reducing food production and increasing vulnerability. All this problems put peoples in the bad conditions of life.
This project will solve the problem with: Sustainable Land Management, Reforestation and Agricultural, Community Involvement and Capacity Building, Environmental and Food Security Improvement. The project will help to mitigate risk, enhance land productivity, and foster long-term resilience for the people of Nyiragongo.
The project will restore more than 600 hectares of degraded agricultural land, contributing to improved soil fertility and increased production potential. Agricultural yields are expected to rise by 25% thanks to the adoption of improved farming practices and sustainable land management techniques. More than 2,000 farming households will be equipped with practical knowledge, tools, and climate-smart agricultural technologies to enhance productivity, manage their land sustainably.
