The project will empower students in schools and community members with skills of environmental sustainability, community clean ups, tree planting. The project is addressing the needs of the community including imparting skills and knowledge to the young people and this can become an income generating activity. The community and the youth are facing a challenge of lack of adequate knowledge on environmental issues, garbage are poured in the trenches which some times are also blocked, Many people cut down trees due to charcoal burning. These challenges have resulted into increased heat at night, The youth, women, children and all people including animals are affected. Once the project is implemented, it will benefit over twelve thousand people indirectly, they youth, women, children will benefit
The project will involve additional mobilization, out reach to the schools and community, sensitization of the community members, youth empowerment training, cleaning of the blocked trenches in the communities and 3 schools in wakiso district and planting of trees. The media campaign will be used to reach a wider coverage.
