Dear Donors!
You will be happy to know that our children in the early learning centre in Kajapet celebrated the festival Diwali on October 11 (Southern India celebrates it as the day on which Lord Krishna defeated the demon Narakasura). The Rotary Club of Trichirappalli Shakthi made the day wonderful to the children by their presence in our centre. They interacted with the parents and distributed sweets and new dresses to our creche children. Thank you Shakthi team for choosing to support our children.
Sajani (name changed) is one and a half years old. She has an elder sister and an elder brother. Her father is a labourer in a hotel and he goes to work whenever he wanted money. All the money he gets as wages is spent on alcohol. Her mother is a house maid. It was with the small income she earns the children were eating. Four months back the mother met with an accident. After that it is very difficult to feed the children. Sajani’s mother is grateful to the early learning centre as the child is getting at least a meal a day.
When Sajani joined the early learning centre she did not talk nor play and had improper toilet habits. During this 6 months she has developed interest in playing with the children, talk few words and is developing proper toilet habits. We are happy to see her improvement.
During this quarter we received local donations $123 and the amount is spent on nutritious food for the children. However the donations received is meagrely sufficient to meet out the expenses of the early learning centre. Dear friends kindly help the children by spreading words about the project to your near and dear ones. We are running short of funds. We need continuous support to continue the noble task of taking care of the children and helping them have a safe place while their poor mothers are away on work during the day times.
Your generous donations this year end and the days to come will provide a nutritious meal to these children. Kindly keep supporting us by passing on our appeal in your circle.
Our children and our team wish you a “Merry Christmas and a Joyful New Year!”
Regards
