Children dressed up as great leaders!

Children dressed as great leaders
Children dressed as great leaders

Hi Donors,

Can you imagine what a great sight it would have been to see the children from our early learning centre posing as great leaders of our country? There was a parade of small icons of Mahathma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Subramaniya Bharathi, Jansi Rani Lakshmi Bai, Nethaji Subash Chandra Bose, Avvaiyar, etc. on the Republic Day Celebrations held on 26.1.2017 in our Kaja Pettai community. Flag was hoisted and special events were conducted together with the children from our coaching class and special school for child labourers. Prizes were given to the small children who participated in the fancy dress competition. It had been a great day!

The girl posing as Mother Teresa is born to Ahamed and Mani (names changed). Mani is the second wife of Ahamed and his first wife died due to the drunken beatings of Ahamed. Mani came to know about this only after her marriage. Ahamed continues drinking and beating his wife. He hardly gives any money for family expenses. He hates girl children and seldom takes care of them. Mani should work to feed the two small girls but there was no one to take care of the small children. The first girl born to the first wife aged 6 goes to the nearby government school. The second one aged 2 should be taken care of. Mani admitted the second child in New Life's early learning centre. She says with relief, "I am earning now by doing household works in the nearby houses and can take care of the family necessities like my children's food and other needs. This is possible only because my younger child is in New Life's early learning centre. Otherwise I might have stayed back in home struggling for food. New Life's early learning centre is a boon to mothers like me. We are grateful to the people who donate to New Life for feeding our children and taking care of them."

Women like Mani are now worry free about the safety of their children below 6 and are going to jobs which help them run their families. This is made possible only by your noble support for running the early learning centre dear donors. The mothers are also happy that their children get a nutritious meal in the noons.

During this quarter we received $59.5 and donations through other channels are $1090. Out of this $532 is spent for food, rent, teacher's & cook's salary and other expenses for the creche. For the next three months we have funds. But to continue the creche we need your continued support.

Kindly help these poor children and their mothers by spreading words dear donors. Your words carry weight. Share the below link with your friends and relatives and help us serve these poor children continuously:
