The parents in Kajapet are happy that their small children who could not be cared for by them are now being taught lessons to develop the skills of their children. During this month, the children between the age of 2-3 were taught to identify colours in our early learning center. The teacher taught the colours through rhymes, activities like grouping things of same colours, picture charts stories, etc.
Ratha and Ram (names changed) have three children. Malar, 2-1/2 years, is their first daughter. The other two are twins aged 1. Ram goes to work only when there is work (on an average 15 days in a month). Their monthly income is $125. Ram has all the vices and spends most of his income on that. Ratha finds it difficult to feed and take care of Malar and her twin sisters. From June 2016 Malar is coming to our early learning center. Ratha is now relieved that Malar gets a nutritious meal and being taken care of well by our center teacher and caretaker. Children like Malar are being admitted in our early learning centers and are well cared for.
During this quarter, we got funds to maintain the center through local donations and borrowed from friends. If we get more supporters and donors, we are sure that we can provide the children with more nutritious food and use quality learning materials. Kindly support the project dear donors, as this will lay a strong foundation for these children who come from the crime prone community.
Thanking you
