Dear Donors,

The year 2019 started with the New Year celebration for the kids in our early learning centre. A cake was cut and shared with the children and their parents on 2nd January. Our beautiful children sang rhymes for us.

On 14th January, the Harvest Festival of Tamil Nadu, "Pongal" was celebrated with the early learning centre children and children from our coaching classes. Fun games were conducted for the children and their parents. Pongal (a sweet made of rice) was cooked and distributed to all the participants. New dresses were given to our early learning centre children, thanks to two donors here in Trichy who wanted to share their joy of celebration with our children.

The 70th Republic Day was celebrated in a slum we work (where family quarrels, addiction to alcohol, child abuse, poverty and crimes are prone). Indian national flag was hoisted by the Secretary of Rotary Club of Diamond City Queens. Children from our early learning centre were motivated to participate in a fancy dress. They adorned the function in different costumes. It was eye-catching to see them as Bharatha matha, Jansy Rani, Bharathi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Kamarajar, etc. Awareness Song was sung by a student. One of our coaching class students shared her 9 years of experience with New Life. Prizes were given to the winners of games conducted on the Pongal Day Celebration.

Vaishu mother of Deepa (names changed), is a home keeper. Her husband is a painter.  She won first prize in a game and says, " I was much thrilled to participate in a game so many years after my school days. And I was excited when I won first place. You made me recall my school days and thanks."

This New Year brought with it, appreciation for our team's hard work. You would be happy to know that New Life got four badges in appreciation from Global Giving. All these happy happenings and celebrations are possible only with your wonderful support. We are thankful to you dear donors.

Kindly keep supporting our beautiful children to have a wholesome growth in spite of all odds. Keep spreading words about our work and our wonderful children to your friends and relatives who would love to support them. Even a small donation of $20 will provide meals to a child for 6 months.

I thank you once again for your generous support.

With regards
