Project Report | Aug 29, 2025
2nd and 3rd Quarter

By Patrick Kiarie | Programs Officer

1. Project Overview

Our project continues to focus on breaking barriers to education for school-going girls in Kisii County, Kenya, by addressing the lack of basic water and sanitation facilities. Through the provision of sanitary wares, hygiene kits, and health education, we aim to reduce absenteeism, improve academic performance, and empower girls to pursue their dreams with dignity and confidence.

2. Progress Summary

Funds Raised: USD 1,200
Girls Sponsored: 12
Activities Completed: 3

  • Sponsored 12 girls from underserved schools in Kisii County with sanitary wares and hygiene kits.

  • Expanded hygiene training sessions to cover menstrual health management and personal hygiene for both girls and teachers.

  • Strengthened partnerships with local school administrations and parents to create supportive environments for girls’ education.

Impact Highlight: One of the beneficiaries, Mary, shared how she no longer misses classes during her menstrual cycle. She expressed joy in keeping up with her studies, especially in mathematics, and dreams of becoming an engineer.

3. Challenges

  • Funding Gap: While the funds raised have supported 12 girls, the demand is much higher, with many more girls in need across Kisii County.

  • Infrastructure Needs: Some schools lack proper sanitation facilities, creating an uncomfortable learning environment for girls.

  • Cultural Barriers: A number of parents and community members still have limited awareness about the importance of menstrual hygiene.

4. Next Steps

  • Fundraising: Continue online campaigns and explore partnerships with NGOs and corporate sponsors to reach more girls.

  • Scale Up: Increase support to sponsor at least 25 additional girls in the next quarter.

  • Hygiene Education: Roll out structured training programs for students, teachers, and parents in at least three schools.

  • School Facilities: Engage county education officials to begin planning for gender-segregated toilets and water access.

5. Long-Term Goals

  • Improve school enrollment, retention, and academic outcomes among girls.

  • Reduce dropout rates linked to menstrual hygiene challenges.

  • Equip girls with the confidence and opportunities to pursue higher education and future careers.

6. Action Points

We are deeply grateful to all supporters who have walked this journey with us. Your contributions have already transformed lives, and together, we can do more. Our focus now is to:

  • Sponsor more girls with sanitary wares and hygiene kits.

  • Improve sanitation facilities in schools.

  • Provide health education to students and communities.

Thank you for being part of this mission, together, we are changing the future of Kenyan girls, one school at a time!
