Enhancing nonviolence building aimed at enhancing alternative livelihoods as well as promoting nonviolent conflict resolution skills and trauma healing. Among the 600 ex-combats and the ex-prison suspects of the July 5th attacks that received amnesty from government and widows, orphans of 17th Dec 2017 government attack on Rwenzuru King palace left over innocent 300 royalguards,children,women dead and 400 others imprisoned.This left wound of trauma, tribal conflicts.
The mention of July 5th and 17th Dec2017 government attacked using heavy bombs on Rwenzuru King royal palace left over 300 royal guards, children, women dead brings awful memories in the minds of people in the Rwenzori region. On those days, thousands lost their lives in the deadly attacks on military installations in Ntoroko, Fortportal, Kasese and Bundibugyo districts and military attack on civilians. Prison gates opened and closed for hundred majorities of who were young people.
It is against this backdrop that this project is sought to not only mobilize, train, equip the July 5th ex-combatants and widows, children and ex-prisonors in alternative dispute resolution but also increase their productivity through skilling, establishing income generation projects as well as establishing a revolving fund from which they can draw funds to scale up their projects for economic independence.
People in the Rwenzori will gain the former glory- restoration of peace.Skills developed in non violence and everlasting peace building and sustainable increased household incomes for economic independence of these people in the project area.Wounds of trauma will be healed and people will be set free.
