After interacting with all the active Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), we selected 20 members as the first beneficiaries for this micro project. On 27/05/2023, the identified farmers were trained in rabbit keeping, care, cage construction, dung and urine collection, storage and usage. After the training, 20 farmers went to their respective localities and constructed cages with the help of the facilitator.

After a thorough inspection of the constructed cages, the rabbits were delivered to the first members that were ready on 19/06/2023. The rabbits are four months old. So, we hope that soon they will start producing.  They are regularly being monitored by our staff, the supervision will continue to ensure that the other members also receive their from the new babies.

Next, we are going to organize training on how to process urine as an alternative to synthetic fertilisers, which are responsible for depleting their soils. We hope to eventually replace them with locally produced alternatives and regenerated soils.
