English Language Learners: Equitable Communication

Project Report | Jul 21, 2017
Communication is Key

By Suzanne Quigley, PhD | Executive Director

Listen and Talk is dedicated to helping any family of a child with hearing loss. Hearing loss can occur in any family and learning how to support a child's development of speaking and listening takes special support to parents and caregivers. Listen and Talk providers have the expertise to support the development of a child's listening and spoken language skills. Conveying that information to families and suporting their goals are our focus.

More than 50% of the families we serve have a home lanugage other than English. We are dedicated to making sure that regardless of home language, families get the information they need to be successful. This project will help empower families to raise their child in their home language(s) and enable the child to be fully integrated into their home-culture and in the wider community.

Thank you for your support!
