As the summer semester has come to an end, we are pleased to share that our online English programs have continued to make a meaningful difference in 2026, helping disadvantaged students across China build essential English and 21st-century skills.
From January to September 2026, our online English programs reached 3,040 students nationwide. To support them, we recruited and trained over 290 dedicated volunteers, who delivered more than 1,865 interactive lessons.
Students joined from 19 provinces and municipalities, including Anhui, Fujian, Gansu, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hebei, Heilongjiang, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Liaoning, Ningxia, Shaanxi, Shandong, Shanghai, Sichuan, Tianjin, and Yunnan. This broad reach reflects our commitment to bringing quality English education to children in disadvantaged communities across China. Classes were delivered online to students in rural schools and through small-group after-school sessions for children learning from home.
In the online classroom, volunteers and teachers used picture books, text-image dialogues, games, group competitions, phonics activities, and songs to make English learning engaging and enjoyable. These interactive approaches helped students practice vocabulary, sentences, and dialogues while building their confidence and enthusiasm for speaking English and applying their learning to real-life situations.
We are preparing to welcome more than 2,400 students for the fall 2026 semester and are currently recruiting volunteers to support our programs. This continued demand reflects the need for quality English education in disadvantaged communities, as well as the dedication of our volunteers and supporters.
None of this would be possible without the commitment of our volunteers, the generosity of our donors, and the support of our partners. Together, we are helping children across China build the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to succeed.
