After many challenging years, 2023 has been very successful for us so far. Thanks to our partners, donors, and volunteers, our program has experienced a significant increase in enrolment, reaching disadvantaged students in more than 10 provinces in China.
In the spring and summer terms of 2023, we have provided lessons to a total of 3,840 students, which is our highest number of students since the inception of the program. Our volunteers and teachers delivered an impressive total of 2,928 online lessons.
During the summer months, our class curriculum centred around using interesting English stories, picture books, and songs to help students understand better the logic and emotions of stories and to use that to help them improve their English understanding and to enhance their expression ability. During the classes, we incorporated games that were related to the stories, to make the students’ language learning more colourful, and so they could more confidently use English to express themselves.
As the fall semester has started, we are very excited to welcome new students to our program across China. More than 3,125 rural students are currently enrolled in our online English teaching program.
It goes without saying that none of this would be possible without the efforts and dedication of all of our volunteers, donors, and other supporters. Thank you all for your support!
