English in Mind Institute (EIM) provides high quality, affordable English classes to adults in Port-au-Prince, along with job placement assistance.
We are fundraising to support our operating costs for the next school year - that's one more year we can pay our nine teacher and staff salaries and help subsidize our students' learning and exams. And we're not gonna lie, it's tough out there. Due to the economic impact of Covid-19, non-profits like EIM that survive solely on donations have not been able to fundraise as much as we have in the past - so we have ground to make up. Please join us.
English education opens doors to employment, promotions, university scholarships and more - in a country where most of the population doesn't have formal employment, and lives on dollars per day. EIM is Haitian-led and serves as a platform of advancement for over 200 students (more than 40% women).
English in Mind is an educational oasis for over 200 students and teachers striving for an edge in the employment world. In Haiti someone with a high school degree who speaks English will often be chosen for work over someone with a university degree who does not. It's just that powerful.
