Inspiring the next generation

By Narelle Crichton | Chief Operations Officer

Throughout May, more than 600 students are visiting the Rainforest Conservation Foundation’s Daintree facility as part of our Student Engagement Program — getting their hands dirty and experiencing conservation firsthand.

Students are planting native rainforest trees, collecting seeds for future propagation, learning about biodiversity, and helping restore habitat within one of the world’s most significant ecosystems. For many, it is their first opportunity to step into an ancient rainforest and actively contribute to its protection.

We are also working towards expanding the program into hands-on citizen science projects, allowing students to contribute to real environmental monitoring and conservation research. To make this possible, we urgently need support to upgrade our facilities, including reliable satellite internet, devices for data collection and learning, additional seating, and improved educational infrastructure.

By investing in these upgrades, supporters are helping inspire and empower the next generation of conservationists while creating meaningful environmental impact in the Daintree Rainforest.
