The South American Initiative (SAI) is proud to announce the continued success of our zoo program in the second quarter of 2024. During this period, we have delivered a total of 1,586 pounds of essential food to support the diverse needs of animals in partner zoos and refuges. This critical aid ensures a steady supply of nutritious fruits, eggs, meat, and nuts, promoting the overall health and well-being of the creatures under their care.
Beyond providing sustenance, this quarter brought a heartwarming event at the monkey sanctuary. We are absolutely thrilled to share the news of a healthy baby monkey born to one of the resident primates! This adorable new arrival fills the refuge with joy and serves as a testament to the ongoing commitment of the dedicated staff. Their tireless efforts, combined with the essential support provided by SAI, create a nurturing environment where animals can thrive.
The birth of this precious primate signifies not only new life, but also the importance of supporting healthy ecosystems within zoos and sanctuaries. We extend our deepest gratitude to our generous donors whose contributions make these initiatives possible.
