Thank you for the previous donation you made to the Omega Research Foundation through GlobalGiving. We appreciate that there are lots of important causes which you could choose to support right now, and we are grateful for all donations towards our work to protect human rights and prevent torture. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to our shared cause.
We used the money you donated to continue our research. Omega staff continue to research the manufacture, trade, and use of law enforcement and security equipment and we are always exploring how our information can be made more accessible. Some notable recent cases we’ve examined include the use of rubber bullets, handcuffs, electric shock weapons, and tear gas. This information helps activists to more effectively lobby to control the trade and use of tools of torture and allows legal professionals to better evaluate the legality of use of force incidents. We also use our work to help journalists and human rights defenders identify equipment used in torture, which can help survivors seek redress.
Please see the GlobalGiving website, Omega’s own website, or get in touch with us (at info@omegaresearchfoundation.org) to learn more about our work. We are always happy to answer any questions you may have. We also regularly post news updates on our website here.
If you would like to unsubscribe from our email updates at any time, please do this through the GlobalGiving website directly.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
