Health education, giving deworming medicine, vitamin supplements, food packages and other features were the main activities which took place on Tuesday 28, March 2022. Oak Rural Health Organization concentrated on the nutrition and healthy growth segment of the project this time.
An average of fifty mothers and their children were in attendance at the program venue, where they were health educated on effective care and disease prevention in children aged 0-5 who are the main beneficiaries of this project. They were also educated on adequate diet to prevent malnutrition. Demonstrations were done on how to use locally available resources to meet the nutritional needs of the children. Question and answer session followed. Moreover, worm prevention medications and some vitamin supplements were given to every child in attendance. The program ended by distributing some nutrients fortified cereals and other food packages to their mothers. They were all happy to be part of this life changing program. They promised to put their newly gained knowledge into use. This is a need met at the right time' said one of the mothers present.
