All indications have shown that, it is not just a wasted time, efforts and resources; when actions and activities are geared towards prevention of mortality and disabilities caused by malaria and malnutrition in children, and Hypertension in adults. People living in Itamerin area of Ibadan in Akinyele LGA of Oyo state Nigeria, especially the children now have an improved life quality through project "MAMAH"(preventing children malaria and malnutrition; adults hypertension), an initiative of Oak Rural Health Organization. The rich components of the project ensured that more people were reached than envisaged.
Early discovery and treatment of hypertension in adults is a good move towards maintaining a healthy and productive lives. While early diagnosis and treatment of malaria in children drastically reduced the incidence of absenteeism in school. Also, reduce an unnecessary burden of medical expenses on parents. The little fund raised was judiciously utilised to provide at least one healthcare hub, which enables the people within the locality to have access to prompt health interventions.
However, there are still many components of the project not covered due to insufficient fund. Every penny put into this project has a potential to impact lives. Please! donate more to enable us help more children and women!
