463 is a magic number!

By Julia Krepska | Founder and Director

Can you believe that we are now able to provide education to 463 children that worked at brick factories and support their families? We are so happy with this result. A lot of hard work for our staff since the beginning of this year but everyone is really passionate and excited to be able to change those children's lives.

And can you believe it's already year 2083 in Nepal? Yes, this week all staff and children celebrate their new year with loads of sweets and parties.

The children are enjoying their classes a lot and with the new school year in Nepal starting soon, all will be joining regular school as well. They will shortly receive all their uniforms and special school bags that transform into small tables as well - this will enable them to study at home too (most of them live in small mud huts and do not have separate space to study). We are very proud of all our students.

And from other exciting updates - we have just started our new Careers Counselling project. We aim to inspire children to continue their education after grade 10 (either formal or vocational) to avoid child marriage and so that they have tools for bright future, to change attitudes towards education amongst the parents, and to pilot new ideas aimed at career counselling and to design a model project for 2027 onwards.

In 2026 our staff will be trained as counsellors and at the end of the year they will be able to deliver extensive careers counselling in a fun and interactive way. Throughout the year we will be introducing the children to different professions so that they can make an informed choice about possible paths they can take. We have already organized workshops with an electrician, carpenter and a vet and these were received very well by the children and were very inspiring.

And more exciting updates coming up soon – we will keep you up to date!
