SUCCESSFULLY STORIES

“I am no longer a poor, I am a successfully woman” happily statement from Neema. Neema is a woman head of the household taking care of her mother. Neema and her mother lived under the shamble grasses thatched mud house. Enough food to her family had been a problem since the death of her father who passed away when she was very little child. She then secured business and farming training and support of injection capital that have changed her family life. When Neema visited at her home to get information what impact she has got from farming scheme, she had very interesting success story that inspires me. She says; “You know I lived poorly with my mother since my childhood. I never finished standard seven because my mother had not financial ability to pay for my school fees. I have been working with my mother over ages on farm employing poor traditional farming methods which prohibited our capacity of producing enough food. We lived under a very shabby house which made me and my mother unhappy in the society. I am happy now I live happily with my mother. We have enough food, we know and use best farming and we have vegetables garden which gives us fantastic nutrition and income. Maize production has enabled me buy a bundle of iron sheets for best house. I am sure in next year 2018, I and my mother will live in better house and it will make our happiness”. She says,” I did not undertake any business to enable me generates income and it was very difficult to get money. It was expensive to use kerosene as source of energy but now I light our home with solar lights. These are notable success which I and my mother have achieved from the establishment of Mboni ya Vijana”.

Simeone is one of the youth lived without future plan. He is 22 years old now and lived in his parent’s house all his ages. In 2016 he joined MVG farming scheme to improve lives of the youth and their families. Simeone harvested 21 sacks of maize and maintained cabbages garden from which he made good profit. He has then built his house of three rooms despite that it is not yet finished it is good than the past I lived with my parent. “My future is in my hand now I know” he says. “I managed to build my house that has not been in my plan, I hadn’t investment capital before and my parents were unable to give me starting capital but now I have I have my capital and I have expanded the farm so I can produce more than the past farming season” Simeone said.

Victoria is a form four student at Zeze Secondary raised by two poor parents. She has been not happy with her school and she used to live to friends who supported her to get school needs like exercise books, pens and other needs. Now she is attending to school from home. I visited her and gave this interesting story; “My daughter hated me and her father because we were unable to meet her needs. She used to live to her friends and there she got small school needs. Since we have managed to change our lives, Victoria is back to live with us. We are happy; our daughter is home and is doing her classes happily. This is the life she wanted before and missed it. Now we support her and she is happy and we can see it. It is good for us and we need this continue. We need to use all the farming and business skills and injections capital from Mboni ya Vijana to achieve bigger that will make a full joy to my family” Victoria’s mother who is the MVG beneficiary said.
