As part of the project empowering 100 Vulnerable Youths in Bamenda Cameroon, our organization Grace Charitable and Rehabilitation Organization (GRACARO) organized a one day youth empowerment activity on the 11 February 2026 aimed at inspiring and educating the young youths on leadership skills, peace building and community action. The workshop brought out youths from different backgrounds to share experiences, learn and develope practical sollutions to challanges within their community.
The activity created opportunities for participants to learn, share their experiences, and reflect on the role they can play in shaping a better future for themselves and the community. The highlight of the workshop was a group activity where participants worked together to design sollutions to real community problems. One group focused on addressing drug abuse and risky behaviour among youths, proposing community sensitixation and peer education initiatives. Another group developed a project aimed at imptoving sustainable water access in the community, highlighting the impportance of safe drinking water for health and developement.
These exercise allowed the young participants to move beyong theory and begin thinking like community leaders and problem-solvers. Also, many participants expressed thier motivation after the discussions. The activity helped them recognixe their confidence to take part in community initiatives.
This initiative represents an important step toward empowering vulnerable youths in Bamenda Cameroon. With additional support, the project aims to reach even more young people and provide them with opportunitiesfor learning, empowerment, and personal development.
