The Impact You Helped Make in 2025

For CFK Africa, 2025 was an extraordinary year of impact as we connected youth in Kenya’s slums to opportunities that advance global health, education, jobs, and girls’ rights.

We are pleased to present our interactive year-in-review. These impact numbers demonstrate the scale of our reach, the diversity of our programming, and the measurable outcomes we’ve achieved.

Thank you for your support in making possible the success that these statistics convey!

With partner Teaching at the Right Level, we trained 97 teachers across 34 schools in tutoring methods for students in need, more than doubling our goal and showing high demand for our Best Schools Initiative.
92 timely referrals made by landlords and landladies helped survivors of violence with life-saving support services.
Following a retreat for teenage mothers, 96% of girls said they now had a plan for achieving their future educational or career goals.
100% of our teenage mothers in their final year of secondary school graduated.
We introduced 2 new sports (pickleball & basketball) to help youth build life skills and develop healthy habits.
100% of our 92 Lux Sit & Jim Rogers scholars gave back through community service.
At our Tabitha Maternity Home, skilled nurses and midwives safely delivered 515 babies.
100% of our 20 nutrition Champions of Change found new, creative ways to earn money, helping them afford healthier food for themselves and their families.
Our Tabitha Medical Clinic not only remained open, but saw 36% more patient visits, stepping in after other clinics closed due to foreign aid cuts.
Youth unemployment dropped by 92% among participants in our TechCraft program.
Three Youth Peer Providers at our Youth Friendly Services Center volunteered 1,200+ hours to reduce stigma and encourage other young people to seek health care.
CFK held 11 community forums to inform programs and raise awareness about our services.

This year, CFK celebrates our 25th year of service in slums in Kenya. We are thrilled to reach this milestone, and we invite all in our community to join us for special events throughout the year for a rewarding and unforgettable journey into our work. Karibu!

Update: CFK Africa Empowers Youth in Slums

Claudia, a teenage mother in CFK's Funzo Project

CFK Africa is providing pathways out of poverty and towards empowerment for youth in slums in Kenya.

Meet Claudia, a teenage mother who enrolled in CFK Africa’s Funzo Project for teenage mothers to resume her education after giving birth. “I do not allow my circumstances to define me or my future,” Claudia says “I am bold, confident, empowered, and resilient courtesy of the mentorship from the Funzo Project,” she says. “I am now in school working hard and smart to achieve my goal.”

Other highlights in Q2 of 2025 include:

-Our professional football team, Kibera Soccer Women FC, won the Football Federation Kenya (FKF’s) Women’s Cup! The team made history as the first slum team to be crowned national champions. We are inspired by their perseverance, their resilience, and dedication to the sport and to their community.

-CFK Africa, in partnership with Kibra Technical and Vocational College, proudly celebrated the graduation of our first-ever TechCraft cohort! These bold, creative, and resilient young innovators completed their journey; gaining hands-on skills, building networks, and shaping new possibilities for themselves and their communities. With this milestone, these graduates are proof of what can happen when talent meets opportunity. We can’t wait to see what they’ll build next!

-For many students in Kenya's informal settlements, something as simple as a pen can make the difference between staying in school and falling behind. Through our ongoing partnership with BIC Kenya, we distributed 150,000 pens to over 110,000 learners. Through our education research, we have seen how a lack of basic materials can hinder student success. We are proud to partner with Bic to change that, because education should not be a luxury. Together, we are working to level the playing field and improve educational outcomes.
