Thank you for continuing to support TakingITGlobal to engage youth in environmental action. 2014 has a great year so far! Here’s what we’ve been up to:
We are continuing to support youth to monitor rainforest lands through programs like Earthwatchers;
We’ve launched our mini-course and are supporting educators to create transformative deforestation learning experiences. This mini-course leverages challenge-based learning to help educators design authentic lessons that ignite a students’ sense of respect and responsibility for the forests;
We have engaged with the launch of the movie Rise of the Eco Warriors, which links to and features the DeforestACTION program, and;
We are developing a plaque to recognize the hard work of youth and schools around the world to support the DeforestACTION program. The plaque will be on on display from April 2014 at Tembak High School in Borneo, Indonesia.
We have some exciting plans to commemorate World Earth Day on April 22nd. Be sure to check out the DeforestACTION website to learn more about our upcoming opportunities and events! Until then, thank you for your continued contributions and being conscientious environmental stewards!
