This project provides Jewish and Arab girls and women in Israel with lifesaving health and safety education amid the ongoing current war, helping them cope with trauma, prevent gender-based violence, and build resilience through culturally adapted workshops and accessible online resources.
Women and girls in Israel, both Jewish and Arab, are facing unprecedented threats to their safety and wellbeing since the October 7 attacks and ongoing war. Gender-based violence rises sharply during crises, yet access to accurate health information and safe spaces for support is limited - especially in underserved and conflict affected areas. Many girls are coping with trauma, fear, and confusion about their bodies, safety, and rights without reliable culturally appropriate resources.
This project equips Jewish and Arab girls and women with the tools to protect their health and safety during war and beyond. We run culturally adapted workshops in Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, and Amharic, led by trained facilitators, covering trauma coping skills, prevention of gender-based violence, online safety, and positive body image. Our online knowledge hub - the largest of its kind in Israel - offers evidencebased health information accessible anytime.
Empowered with knowledge and tools, girls and women can better protect themselves, make informed health choices, and recover from trauma - creating ripple effects for families and communities. Investing in their wellbeing now will foster a healthier, more resilient society during and long after the current war.
