The project aims to train 100 rural women in how to set up and maintain solar panels via hands-on training, internships with solar energy businesses, and entrepreneurial workshops, thereby empowering women to attain financial independence and find meaningful employment in India's growing renewable energy sector.
India's over-reliance on coal and oil for industrial growth has made it the third-highest emitter of CO2 globally. Today, as climate change and air pollution continue to impact communities, there is a pressing need to counter rural India's reliance on fossil fuels by bolstering climate resilience. This project will build rural climate resilience by training 100 rural women to maintain and set up solar panels, helping them to attain financial independence and promote renewable energy solutions.
The project will train 100 rural women in solar setup and maintenance. The women will also be trained in renewable energy usage, thereby promoting clean energy practices, reducing over-reliance on fossil fuels, and empowering rural women to attain financial independence. The project will also provide internship opportunities to gain hands-on experience and entrepreneurial training to start their own solar energy businesses, meaningfully contributing to India's growing renewable energy sector.
The project will provide 100 women in rural India with technical skills in solar systems set-up and maintenance, thereby empowering them to gain meaningful employment in India's renewable energy sector, and attain financial independence and provide for their families. The project's renewable energy awareness, internships, and entrepreneurial components will promote sustainable energy solutions, provide hands-on experience, and encourage women to start their own solar energy enterprises.
