The My School-My Community program has concluded and is being deactivated. The program took place in four public schools of New York City, engaging students and teachers on changing knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of school community members related to different issues affecting their school communities.
As part of the program activities, students had to produce short video trailers, engage in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis in order to determine the focus issue that would drive their change campaigns (e.g. student engagement) and have hosted presentations with key stakeholders about their target issue. Students completed the production phase in which they wrote Entertainment-Education scripts and storylines, film and edit, design and produced a radio call-in show to engage the audience and created campaigns (which include events and publicity materials) to further engage the community in the My School-My Community issue.
Thank you for your support. The students really enjoyed the time working on their projects and some expressed the desire to major in Communications as well as TV & Film.
