Empowering Rural Girls Through Secondary Education
Implementing Organization: Al Mehran Research and Development Foundation (AMRDF)
Location: Rural Communities of Sanghar District, Sindh, Pakistan
Project ID: 76862
Dear Supporters, Donors, and Friends,
Greetings from Al Mehran Research and Development Foundation (AMRDF), Pakistan!
We are pleased to share an update on our initiative, Empowering Rural Girls Through Secondary Education. Our mission is to help girls from underserved rural communities continue their education, develop essential life skills, and build brighter futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.
The Challenge: A Girl's Right to Education Should Not Depend on Where She Lives.
In rural communities across Sindh, Pakistan, many girls face significant barriers to continuing their education beyond primary school. Financial hardship, the distance between homes and secondary schools, transportation costs, and limited opportunities for extracurricular learning can make the journey to completing secondary education extremely difficult.
For families already struggling to meet their basic needs, the additional cost of sending a daughter to school can become a serious obstacle. Without adequate support, talented and motivated girls risk losing opportunities to learn, grow, and fulfil their potential.
We believe that every girl deserves the opportunity to pursue her education, regardless of her family's financial circumstances or where she lives.
Project Progress and Current Funding Situation
AMRDF remains committed to advancing girls' education and creating opportunities for rural girls to continue learning beyond the classroom.
However, we must share an important update transparently: our project has not yet received any donations through GlobalGiving. Consequently, we have not received project funding through this campaign to finance the planned activities.
This funding gap has prevented us from mobilizing the financial resources needed to deliver the proposed project interventions at the intended scale. We do not want to overstate our achievements or report activities as completed when the necessary project funding has not been secured.
Although this is a challenging situation, our commitment to rural girls and their educational aspirations remains strong. We are continuing to seek support from individuals, philanthropic organizations, corporate partners, and international donors who believe in the transformative power of education.
What Your Support Can Make Possible
With your generous support, AMRDF aims to expand educational opportunities for girls through the following interventions:
1. Support for Secondary Education
Help girls overcome financial barriers that threaten their ability to continue schooling and complete their secondary education.
2. Transportation Assistance
Contribute towards safe and reliable transportation so that girls living in remote villages can access secondary schools more consistently.
3. Personal Development Workshops
Help girls strengthen their confidence, communication, leadership, decision-making, and life skills through structured learning opportunities.
4. Educational Exposure Visits
Enable girls to participate in educational visits and experiences that broaden their horizons, inspire ambition, and connect classroom learning with the wider world.
5. Vocational Training and Skills Development
Support opportunities for girls to develop practical skills that can strengthen their future education, employment prospects, and economic independence.
6. Continued Educational Engagement
Help us encourage girls to remain engaged with learning, explore future opportunities, and become positive contributors to their communities.
These activities form the foundation of our proposed project. Their implementation depends on securing the financial resources required to deliver them effectively.
A Small Donation Can Open a Door to a Brighter Future
Every contribution can help bring us closer to our goal of making secondary education and personal development opportunities more accessible to rural girls.
Through our GlobalGiving campaign, the following suggested contributions are linked to specific project needs:
- $15 can cover the monthly project costs for one girl's school attendance.
- $30 can cover the monthly school attendance costs for two girls.
- $75 can cover the monthly school attendance costs for five girls.
- $20 can support the costs associated with personal development workshops.
- $145 can support a year's worth of out-of-school learning experiences for one girl, including educational exposure visits and personal development workshops.
- $600 can support vocational training and an educational exposure trip.
These are the contribution examples listed on our GlobalGiving project page. Actual expenditure and delivery will depend on the funds received and the needs of participating girls.
Our Appeal to Donors: Help Us Turn This Vision into Action
Dear donors, philanthropists, corporate partners, and friends of education,
Today, we invite you to become part of this important mission.
Our project has not yet received its first donation through GlobalGiving. Your contribution could be the first step towards turning this fundraising campaign into practical support for girls who need educational opportunities.
You do not need to make a large donation to make a difference. A modest contribution, a recurring monthly gift, or sharing our campaign with friends and colleagues can help us reach people who care about girls' education.
Imagine a girl from a remote village who wants to continue her education but whose family struggles to afford transportation. Imagine the confidence she could gain from a personal development workshop, or the possibilities that vocational training could open for her future.
These are the kinds of opportunities we want to help make possible.
By supporting this initiative, you can help address the financial barriers that prevent rural girls from pursuing their educational aspirations. Your generosity can contribute to a future in which girls have greater opportunities to learn, make informed choices, develop their abilities, and participate meaningfully in their communities.
Our Commitment to Transparency and Accountability
Al Mehran Research and Development Foundation recognizes that donor trust is essential to sustainable development. We are committed to responsible stewardship of contributions, transparent reporting, and directing project funds towards the approved objectives.
As donations are secured and project activities are implemented, we aim to share meaningful updates on the use of funds, activities undertaken, and progress towards our objectives.
We will continue working to build partnerships and mobilize the resources needed to support rural girls through secondary education and beyond.
