Challenge

There are more than 2,011 refugees with disabilities in Kakuma according to UNHCR report, whereby they are facing a lot of challenges due to cut of USAID fund, this cause food being limited, opportunities are scarce, and hope is fragile. Many are excluded from training programs and jobs due to stigma. Without skills, they remain fully dependent on shrinking humanitarian aid. Parents with disabilities struggle to provide for their children, leaving families trapped in hunger and poverty.

Solution

This project will create space for inclusion, growth, and dignity. Will build Life such as Training in tailoring, digital skills, and hairdressing to generate income and independence. Building Confidence - Mentorship and emotional support to help refugees rediscover their worth. Additional will provide assistive tools such as wheelchairs, crutches, walking sticks, and hearing aids so participants can engage fully in the program.

Long-Term Impact

This project will help to empower 100 refugees living with disabilities. A parent with a disability earns an income, allowing her and family to generate income. A young person once excluded finds employability in society. Communities learn to see the ability where they once saw only disability. When one person rises, others follow. Together, we build a culture of inclusion, dignity, and self-reliance in Kakuma.
