A new color workshop for the artisan women of Huixtan.

By Silvana | Communication Leader

Last week we went to Huixtán to train women in a new color workshop. The purpose was to select a new color palette to apply for the new products that we are developing towards the end of the year.

The women artisans of Huixtán are very curious, they love to learn and experiencing new things, so they were very excited and hopeful with the new collection of products we are developing in collaboration with them.

During the workshop, we show them some color trends catalogues, and talked about 2016 decor trends. With this previous info by the end of the workshop, the women developed and choose color palettes they liked the most to work with.

As an organization, we are interested that artisans become highly productive, thrilled to achieve new skills and capacities, and also, of course, enjoy what they do, because we focus our efforts to perpetuate their devotional tradition of doing each piece with dedication, love and joy, characteristics that also customers would appreciate. We are conscious that a product made with effort and love acquires a spirit that immediately sets it apart from mass made production products, so it becomes not just a cold object making by someone, somewhere, it becomes a piece that tells a story, and which is full of meaning for the maker, the community and of course the conscious customer who acquires it.

After the workshop we also take a look to the prototypes of a new collection of products we are preparing to have on our spot at the Design Week Mexico,
24th-25th October @ Calle General Francisco Ramirez 17, Ampliación Daniel Garza, Mexico City. From11:00 to 18:00 hrs. Free entrance.

Please, stop by our booth on DWMX, we love to see you and share with you the very beutiful new collection made by fully talented and loving artisans of Huixtán and 6 other municipalities of Chiapas Highlands.
