Proposed Text for GlobalGiving Project Report
Overcoming Challenges and Lighting Up New Opportunities
The first half of 2026 presented significant economic challenges in Argentina, but thanks to the unwavering commitment of our team, partners, and supporters, Luz de Esperanza stood strong. Throughout these months, we sustained all our operating shifts and provided comprehensive support, job opportunities, and emotional containment to 32 individuals in situations of social vulnerability and recovering from substance abuse.
In our candle making and glass bottle cutting workshops, our participants haven't just learned a trade—they have rebuilt their self-confidence and daily routines. During this period, our team produced 14,235 candles (+6.5% growth compared to last year) and upcycled over 6,200 glass bottles, redirecting 2,349 kg of waste away from landfills and into recycling channels. Additionally, we inaugurated new facilities, including a community dining area and outdoor shelving, creating a safer and more welcoming space for everyone.
Personal growth goes hand-in-hand with technical skills. Through our monthly assemblies, leadership workshops, and emotional development sessions coordinated with our social worker, participants are learning to navigate interpersonal challenges, step into internal leadership roles, and build a positive workplace culture. Furthermore, in partnership with local allies like TRASA, we launched sales training programs to prepare our team members to represent Luz de Esperanza at public fairs and events.
Every candle poured and every bottle upcycled represents a step toward dignity, independence, and social transformation. None of this would be possible without your support.
