7th update on Empowering Greek Rural Heroes with Business Skills

By Erica Lympousi | Development Manager

At the end of June 2026, we officially announced the launch of the new cycle of “AgroAnelixi – Farmers of the Future,” marking the seventh consecutive year of this flagship business acceleration program.

AgroAnelixi supports farmers, livestock breeders, beekeepers, producer groups, cooperatives, small food-processing businesses, and cottage industries across Greece. Through specialized training and personalized guidance, the program helps participants improve existing products, develop new ones, increase their added value, and strengthen their commercial potential.

Applications for the 2026 cycle opened on June 24 and will close on July 19. During July, our team will review the applications, conduct interviews, and complete the final selection process. Up to 15 promising agrifood businesses from across Greece will be selected to participate in this year’s program.

In August, the selected participants will be officially announced and welcomed at the program’s Kick-off Event. This event will mark the formal beginning of the new cycle and offer participants the opportunity to meet one another, introduce their businesses, exchange experiences, and begin building a strong community of rural entrepreneurs.

The program’s educational workshops will also begin in August. Participants will explore timely and important topics such as:

  • Climate change adaptation and resilience
  • Regenerative agriculture
  • Sustainable management of water resources
  • Food innovation and product development
  • Food safety
  • Marketing and branding
  • Sales and exports
  • Business strategy

Alongside the workshops, participants will receive personalized one-to-one consulting from experienced professionals and practical guidance through on-site visits to their production facilities. This combination of knowledge, mentoring, and hands-on support will help them address their individual challenges and create realistic plans for sustainable growth.

As climate pressures, limited resources, and changing consumer needs continue to reshape the agrifood sector, small rural businesses need access to knowledge and expert support more than ever. Through AgroAnelixi, we are helping them become more resilient, innovative, sustainable, and competitive.

Help Us Empower the Next Generation of Rural Entrepreneurs!

Your support can provide a small producer with the training, tools, and guidance needed to transform an idea into a viable product, strengthen a rural business, and create new opportunities within a local community.

Donate today and become part of the new AgroAnelixi journey. Together, we can empower Greece’s rural heroes, strengthen local economies, and help build a more resilient and sustainable future for Greek agrifood.

Thank you for standing beside the people who cultivate, produce, innovate, and keep rural Greece moving forward.
