Our esteemed donors, we are thrilled to share the remarkable impact achieved through your support during the previous quarter, where we among other activities, had our 16 Days of Activism campaign, "Breaking the silence against Gender-Based Violence" in Kinawataka.
The initiative, undertaken in the heart of Kinawataka, focused on raising awareness about the issue of GBV. Through storytelling, we aimed to encourage open dialogue and unite the community against the silence surrounding these challenges.
Through interviews, we shared personal narratives of GBV survivors, addressing the aspects of child/young marriages, parenthood, and financial strain. The approach aimed to humanize the issue, making it relatable to a wider audience and fostering a sense of shared responsibility within the community.

Burgess Foundation envisions the development and implementation of comprehensive policies and programs at local level, aimed at supporting young girls and women, informed by the stories shared during the 16 Days of Activism. The goal is to inspire positive change, contribute to dismantling societal norms prolonging GBV, and foster a community that refuses to turn a blind eye to the struggles faced by those affected.
Your ongoing support is pivotal in sustaining these efforts and creating lasting change.
