HELPING CHILDREN INC offers school supplies, meals, medical screenings, and safe learning environments to help them break the cycle of poverty and thrive.
Across rural and urban low-income communities in Sri Lanka, thousands of children struggle to access basic needs required for healthy development. Many attend school without books, uniforms, shoes, or food. Families affected by economic hardship, inflation, and unemployment cannot afford educational or medical costs. Children face: Malnutrition and nutrient deficiencies Lack of school supplies and uniforms Limited access to healthcare Poor hygiene and sanitation
HELPING CHILDREN INC will deliver a holistic child-support program: Education Support School supplies, shoes, backpacks, uniforms Tuition assistance & after-school support Nutrition Daily healthy meals Protein-rich snacks Emergency food packs for families Healthcare Medical checkups Deworming & vaccinations support Essential medicines Health-awareness sessions Hygiene & Sanitation Hygiene kits (soap, toothpaste, sanitary pads, etc.) Handwashing training Clean water support
This project will support 300 vulnerable Sri Lankan children, improving their health, school attendance, and long-term development. Expected outcomes include: Increased school enrollment & reduced dropouts Improved nutrition and immunity Better academic performance Stronger family engagement Healthier, empowered youth who can contribute to their communities The project strengthens resilience and breaks poverty cycles-impacting both children and entire families.
