Healing Through Art, Building Peace
We are grateful to share an early update on our Healing Through Art, Building Peace initiative. The project is designed to use art, creative expression and community collaboration to help people affected by conflict rebuild trust, strengthen empathy and create safe spaces for dialogue. At this stage, the project remains in preparation: our team is identifying trainers and learners, refining the implementation approach and mobilizing the resources needed to begin the program. The total fundraising goal is USD 95,000, and we have not yet received project funding.
This beginning is important because our approach starts with the community. Rather than imposing an outside artistic or peacebuilding model, we intend to create activities that reflect local experiences, culture and priorities. Through workshops, collaborative artistic productions and dialogue, participants will have opportunities to express themselves, listen to others and build relationships across social divisions. We also plan to use qualitative approaches such as Most Significant Change stories and longer-term participant follow-up to understand changes that cannot be captured by numbers alone.
We are especially thankful to GlobalGiving for helping us connect this locally led initiative with an international community of donors. Reaching our USD 95,000 goal will allow us to move from preparation to implementation and give more community members the opportunity to create, heal and participate in peacebuilding. We invite individuals, foundations, companies and diaspora communities around the world to stand with us. Your support can help turn creativity into a pathway toward healing, dialogue and peace. Thank you to everyone who believes in this vision and is willing to walk this journey with us.
