Furture Search was just finished for the foundation work in the three wards and six villagesin and around Manyara Ranch. The theme was Living Togehter with the Land. Shaping a Future We Share. The Manyara Ranch Management Trust in partnership with Africa Brige convened a Future Search process to develop a shared vision for the future of Manyara Ranch and the surrounding communities. The process responded to increasing pressures on land, livelihoods, natural resources and human-wildlife coexistence by bringing people together those who share the responsiblity for the landscape to jointly define priorities and commit to collective action.
The Future Search process consisted of two interconnected workshops. The first engaged 31 children and youth from six villages providing a dedicated space for young people to relfect on their past, analyze present challenges, and articulate thier aspirations for the future. The second workship brought together 70 participants representing communities, traditional leaders, local and district governments, NGO's, religious leaders and more. Youth representatives formally presented the outcomes of their workshops ensuring that young people's perspectives informed the wider community dialogue.
Both workshops provided the opportunity to listen to different perspectives and experiences and they converged on a remarkably consistent vision for the future. For additonal information please contact info@africabridge.org
