MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN NEURODIVERSITY

Project Report: Empowering Children with Autism in the Township –Project 73168

Since the launch of our project, Autism Ekasi has continued to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with autism and their families living in township communities around Nellmapius, Pretoria.

Your generous support has enabled us to provide a safe, inclusive environment where children receive structured developmental activities, sensory play, communication support, and opportunities to build social and life skills. For many of the children we serve, these are services that would otherwise be inaccessible due to financial and geographical barriers.

Beyond supporting the children, we have empowered parents and caregivers through educational workshops, practical guidance, and peer support. Families are gaining a better understanding of autism and are learning strategies to support their children at home, resulting in improved confidence and stronger family relationships.

We have also continued to raise autism awareness within the community by engaging schools, community members, and local stakeholders. These efforts are helping to reduce stigma and promote greater acceptance and inclusion of people with autism.

Our project currently serves children with autism from underserved township communities in and around Nellmapius, Pretoria, Gauteng. As demand for our services continues to grow, we remain committed to reaching more families who have little or no access to autism support.

Thank you for standing with Autism Ekasi. Your generosity is helping children with autism develop their potential, giving families hope, and creating more inclusive township communities where every child has the opportunity to thrive.
