Manavya Report for Empowerment through education of 50 HIV+ children
Introduction: With Pune shivering in cold our children have to be nurtured with more care and attention. But the cold has not reduced the fervor of the children who take every day as a new challenge. Children after a long Diwali vacation resumed school with enthusiasm. Diwali was full of fun and folic for the children, with many of our partners having various fun filled activities with the children.
Earn and Learn opportunities:
Children admitted at a course in Agricultural technology have shown keen interest in the various new subjects they have been introduced. In spite the fact that these children have to go through practical training in the field of agricultural, they perform it with much vigor overtaking the fact that they are HIV positive. The reports that we have been getting from the institute has lighted our morals that our children are doing exceptionally well defeating everybody’s imagination.
With most of the children appearing for 8th- 10th Standard which are the foundation for any further career options. Extra efforts were taken by Manavya Staff and volunteers to supervise their studies. Children from 10th were admitted in extra classes under the supervision of expert tutors.
Children due to exposure to pragmatic training have gained experience as well as confidence. This we have seen in two of our special children who are now being enrolled for a vocational training program. Due to their efforts they have proved themselves and now being paid a stipend for the work they are performing. These children who were detected with low IQ are doing better than any other normal child. The amount gained as stipend by these children are being saved for securing the future of these children.
Our in-house scientist:
Children at Pabal an Agricultural Technical Institute are getting opportunities to experiment with technology. Manavya children have always been ambitious. This aspiration has always turned fruitful. They got a chance to design an apparatus which can be utilized for harvesting water. After successful implementation of the project, it has been decided that the same will be instigated in and around the villages of Pabal. Another machine that have been reseeded and put in place was egg hatching this has been very useful for poultry farming.
This is a very great achievement for Manavya to see our children who grew up at with us, invent a new world for themselves.
Diwali the Festival of Lights:
Manavya celebrated Diwali with zeal and fanaticism, Gokul is a home to these children and they always make the best during this festive season. Complete Gokul was decorated with lights and flowers. We have some volunteers who make the children feel special during this festive season. The children relish on sweets which is generally not recommend to these children due to HIV status. But this time of the year they can enjoy lights, food, crackers and a long Diwali vacation.
