The eagle in air often takes leap to a higher level to get a better view of the surrounding same way our children to take a clearer view of their life to see to where it is heading spread their wings and took a new leap into.

Like any normal family which goes through anxiety same way Manavya family had its share of stress and apprehension as number of our children appeared for their 10th and 12th examination.

The children were very confident about the examination and it was the time to test their abilities for which they have been working for the year.

The 10th and 12th children have a lot of aspiration to achieve newer horizons in their life so they are accepted in socio economic system with dignity.

Volunteers and our staff played a pivotal role in preparing the children for the examination. They designed special assignment so that children are aware how to face the various practical hurdles in examination and thus motivating them to boldly face the flagship examination

Extra Tuition for children from 4th to 7th:

In order to concretize the basic academic skills, like reading with an understanding, self-study, and writing skills at a proper formative age of personality, Manavya started private tuitions covering all subjects in general but emphasizing mainly upon three subjects namely English, Mathematics, and science in particular, for all kids from 4th to 7th standard. Moreover we also included some of the talented and eager students from the poor and needy labor community in the Bhugaon area, to get admitted for these extra classes, without charging any fees from them. This extra classes are now held every day for one hour before their school gets started. The intention behind this initiative was to lay a foundation in children who do not have an adequate scholastic background. Children are keen and enjoy.

Children given a chance to explore newer horizons:

Self-actualization process is a very pleasant as well as enlightening process in every child, this quarter we decided to give inputs wherever , without placing any restriction . We made an attempt to break the comfort zones children, by involving them in a wide range of extracurricular activities organized by their respective schools/collages, inside or outside of their premises.

To develop a systematic scientific temper in our children, we insisted four of our girls studying in 9th standard to participate in the ‘District Level Science Model Exhibition’ which was organized at Baramati on 2nd of February.

Sandeep was given an opportunity to get involved in his study tour which was organized at Khadakwasla Hydroelectricity Plant, where he tried to absorb various facts, knowledge, skills relevant to his computer field. Sandeep excelling in his academics has taken admission for 2nd year engineering. In spite of various hurdles he faces, Sandeep is determined to finish his engineering and create a niche for himself.

Ram was sent for his residential picnic for 3 days in Kolhapur, wherein he got an opportunity to visit all the religious as well as historic places near Kolhapur including Panhala Fort, Ambabai Temple, etc.

Aarti our college going girls was encouraged to attend one week camp organized by her college NSS Department in outskirts of Pune District to give her a glance about the rural life in India. As she is ambitious about being a professional social worker in her future life, this camp definitely helped her to learn the techniques of offering a helping hand to rural communities by getting along with their culture.

In More Vidyalay , where boys are are pursuing their formal education our kids proudly achieved many developmental milestones, as far as various sports and other art forms related interschool competitions are concerned. Karan excelled in Kabbadi competition, and won the prestigious award of the student of the year (AdarshVidyarthiPuraskar) due to his consistency in studies and all other school aspects.

Aniket completed his NCC Cadet Examination by successfully performing well on all the tough aspects of the training.

Summer Vacation bursting with activities

The most awaited time of the year arrived with plenty of joy, excitement and curiosity, to be more precise it was the Summer Vacation for the children at Manavya. After a yearlong hectic schedule of study and hard work vacation time for children is a time of refreshment and recuperation.

This time of the year we invite and welcome volunteers who spend their time with our children. Their activities prove to be extremely enjoyable which the children cherish doing the same. In spite of their commitment they devote valuable time for our children and share warmth and love.

Various workshops were conducted for the children like pizza making, card making, science gadgets made from waste material, jumba dancing etc.
