By Pallavi Shinde | Administrative Officer

Empowerment through education for HIV orphan children

This quarter was all about studies and studies with most of the examination lined up. The major examination were for 10th and 12th. We are the catalyst in the process of education where we not only promoting education but also making sure that the children study and perform well in examination.

The weak students during this period are given special attention by means of extra classes and the staff personally getting involved in the studies. The children need a lot of moral support during this period. They often feel pressurized due to study but then all of the Manavya provides the necessary psychological support.

Activities during this quarter:

The year started in a bang of activities pertaining to children, infrastructure, staff empowerment etc. All the activities aimed at moving from one level to another next level of achievement. All the activities involved had certain planning from the last year itself, hence most of the long awaited list of activities were conducted in this quarter.

  • Our staff went ahead to utilize the vacation of the children in a fruitful activity by conducting a health and hygiene workshop for the children between the age group of 6 to 18 years. This workshop catered many questions related to life skill development of individual child.

  • Manavya has always endeavored to give a secured future to the children. Every child has an inherent quality in them, over the years we have always harnessed the creativity of the children. While developing the cognitive skills we are also encouraging the children to develop the social skills. In developing any skill we have never demarcated line between the boys and girls we believe that both the gender should be self-sufficient. The aim of the training is to provide a self-help program which will help to give a child a startup with its own enterpership. This program will congeal training skills of boys and girls who will be employer rather than being an employee.   This program also cater to our Care mother who dedicate their lives to our institute. Through this program we are trying to make them self-efficient then in future they can stand on their own feet.

  •   Ex-students of MIT College have created a group who have been associated with us for many years. Every year they come out with a unique idea to entertain the children last year they organized a trip to Choki Dhani, whereas this year they came up with an exceptional idea bring out the logical sense among the children by solving a huge puzzle and creating a huge mosaic of Abdul Kalam.

  •  A group of Artist from Abhinav Vidyalaya college who were the ex-students of the college organized a program on the occasion of Rangmachmi. They harnessed the creativity side of our children when. They demonstrated making beautiful drawing by blowing drops of color on paper or making simple but artistic drawing from hand printing. After the trying the colors on paper they played colors with the children and introduced an organic Rangpanchmi.

  • The children got an opportunity to interact with many of the donor during the program organized which marked the Death Anniversary of our Late Founder Vijayatai Lawate. This program had children volunteering for all the activities and was especially for the donor. Sushama one of child recited a poem written by her. The poem was so intense that it touched everybody’s heart. Musical program of Manine Gurjar was “Kajara Mohabatwala” was organized which was enjoyed by one and all.
